Gaming Mashup Launches
Gaming Mashup, SlackrMedia’s latest in-house project, has officially launched. The website is a result of 2+ months hard work sporadically throughout the day during the summer.
What is Gaming Mashup? Well, it is a gaming news syndication website. There we syndicate news from many different sites across the web to bring in the latest and greatest in gaming news across all different categories and gaming systems and platforms. There is dynamic backgrounds on the homepages and each other page so that it changes with a refresh, and you can drag and drop, and choose which categories you want on each homepage (stays there with cookies!).
The site is built with a plethora of coding and markup languages. The whole “layout” is just made up of some XHTML, but very little is used throughout the whole thing. The design is just some good ol’ CSS. We used PHP for a lot of the site but mostly to control the feeds would be shown on the homepage based on the users preference. The JavaScript and jQuery was used heavily in the interactivity of the site. From the drag-and-drop, to the drop downs, adding more articles, and pop-ups. Other coding languages and techniques were used including XML and XSLT (hold and parse feeds), but I’m not going to get into those now.
But yes, this is SlackrMedia’s latest project, and I hope you all give us some feedback either in the comments section or by sending us an email via the contact form.
