Here is our portfolio of work that SlackrMedia as a whole and some of our designers have worked on individually. We don’t have much work here right now but we are constantly working on our own projects and are always looking for work to do with clients or people that need any type of website. As you can see, we have a pretty big variety of projects that we’ve creating utilizing very many different tools and technologies.

iPod Games, News, Hacks

ipodnews 1024x671 Portfolio

Built for: SlackrMedia (shits and giggles)

Worked On: A LONG time ago

Website: http://ipodgamesnewshacks.wordpress.com

Technologies Used:

  • WordPress

Built With:

  • WordPress.com

iPod Games, News, and Hacks was one of the first blogs and websites that Keenan set up. After getting his first iPod (Video 5G), he decided to hack it to hell and back with iPod Linux, rockbox, games, and everything. He decided to share his knowledge, links, and tutorials with the world and it actually got pretty popular.

It’s one of the least-updated blogs of the bunch, but it’s got a special place in all of our hearts (if not only because it’s still hosted on WordPress.com).

Network of Mashes

Paradise Drifters

 Portfolio

Built for: Will Fenoglio

Worked On: May-June 2009

Website: http://paradisedrifters.com

Technologies Used:

  • XHTML
  • CSS
  • WordPress

Built With:

  • Notepad++
  • Photoshop

Paradise Drifters was built for a local named Will Fenoglio that was starting his own fly fishing guiding company. Will has years of experience floating the rivers in Montana and upon starting his business, wanted to create an online presence to hopefully draw in more customers via the internet, and to give them a place to view all of their information, as well as media (pictures/videos) from their clients while fishing.

We built a traditional website containing a couple of pages and outbound links using some CSS and XHTML, and we created a “fishing report” blog as well as a multimedia blog using WordPress with custom themes and some plugins.

Gaming Mashup

 Portfolio

Built for: SlackrMedia (in-house)

Worked on: June-November 2009

Website: http://gamingmashup.com

Technologies Used:

  • XHTML
  • CSS
  • Ajax
  • Javascript (JQuery)
  • PHP

Built With:

  • Notepad++
  • DreamWeaver
  • Photoshop

Gaming Mashup is the first entry into our latest subsidiary network that has yet to be announced. The site was worked on throughout the summer and has finally come to completion. What Gaming Mashup does is syndicated the latest news is certain categories for each gaming system.

Everything is basically laid-out with some basic XHTML and CSS, but the inner workings of the site brings a lot more to the table. All of the effects, including the drop down affect, the ability to add more content with plus/minus signs, the pop-up boxes, and the sidebar menu is all created with Javascript and more specifically the JQuery framework.

The site also uses absolutely no MySQL at all, everything is done through PHP, Ajax and obviously Javascript. The homepage also dynamically changes background images, as do each separate page for each system.

SlackrThemes

Worked on: September-October 2009

Website: http://slackrthemes.com

Technologies Used:

  • WordPress (add-ons)
  • XHTML
  • CSS
  • PHP

Built With:

  • Photoshop

SlackrThemes is a free and premium theme subscription site that was launched by SlackrMedia at the end of the 2009 summer. There free and premium themes are released from the designers and developers at SlackrMedia as well as other “guest” designers. A premium subscription that will get you all of the themes for as many sites as you want, just runs for $20/year. New themes are usually added every other week, so there is always something new to use.

The site was built with WordPress, and uses a customized version of the E-News theme from Elegant Themes (ironically enough). We then just added some simple and complex modifications using some pre-existing plugins. We are currently looking for people to help design themes for the site so if you’re interested, feel more than welcome to contact us about your inquiries.

Animal Crossing Addict

Website: http://animalcrossingaddict.com

Technologies Used:

  • XHTML
  • CSS

It was one of his original projects that he started up when Animal Crossing: Wild World hit the Nintendo DS. The site is just based off of the WordPress CMS, but most recently underwent a complete facelift using a variant of the Mortor theme originally developed by WooThemes. Since the new design launched on the site, more news has been updated and the site is being maintained regularly.

Built With:

Default Prime is one of the first blogs that was created by SlackrMedia and is currently the flagship success of the company. The whole site is about bringing the latest gaming and tech news to readers with a humorous twist and smart-ass and sarcastic remarks a plenty.

The design has changed 3 times throughout the site’s birth with the most recent design launching a week ago. The site is based off of WordPress, is enhanced by many plug-ins to add some more CMS functionality and user-interactivity.

Here is our portfolio of work that SlackrMedia as a whole and some of our designers have worked on individually.
